Sea shells

I went for a walk yesterday with my brother on the beach. It was raining quite siftly but the wind was very strong, and coming back down the beach walking into it was quite hard work! I love the sea, especially in the winter (or our summer now!) when it's empty and the waves are crashing and the sea spray gets in your hair. There were just a couple of windsurfers yesterday and some people getting teas and ice creams (brrr) on the front, but my brother and I were pretty much the only ones on the sand itself. We had a look at bits of driftwood and stones to see if there was anything interesting, and we found some nice shells. Today I found one that had made it into my handbag, still with some sand inside. It was a nice surprise to find it nestling there against my phone and diary and endless lists and receipts, pens and scraps of paper.

The Start

Hello there. I live in the countryside and drink gallons of tea, I'm trying to learn how to sew and knit and generally be more crafty. I love otters and owls and the sea, I buy tons of cards which I keep and never send, green is my favourite colour and I have too many books.
